Building a nest egg with a classic “set it and forget it” approach doesn’t cut it any longer.

The usual monthly (and, in this case) annual performance table for some key asset/asset classes. Bottom line, and adapting a headline from The Wall Street Journal: virtually all investors had a "blockbuster year ... no one saw coming." With that, we enter 2024 with not only a cheerful market consensus mood but also upbeat economic consensus forecasts that, curiously, are the opposite of where they were a year ago (and ended up being way too pessimistic).
