Next stop: global flavors from the comfort of the cafeteria! Celebrity chef Jonathan Zaragoza stopped by Lamar School District Re2 in Colorado to showcase Mexican-inspired recipes from our Global Eats program. Students sampled jicama slaw during lunch and had the option of the brisket tostada or Mexican hot dog -- delicious! Chef Jonathan also had the opportunity to engage with culinary students, offering a hands-on pico de gallo demo. He even spent some time with the Career Development class at the middle school to inspire the next generation of chefs! 👨🍳👩🍳 #ServingUpHappyandHealthy

What an incredible day in the kitchen! Celebrity chef Jonathan Zaragoza had the honor of working with two ProStart Program Culinary Classes at Woodland Park School District RE-2 in Colorado, sharing his expertise before walking the classes through cooking demonstrations. 🥑🌶️ During lunch, Chef Jonathan stopped by the cafeteria to feature recipes from the Global Eats program, including the Mexican hot dog served with cilantro lime rice and elotes, and a flavor-packed brisket tostada. #ServingUpHappyandHealthy

In honor of #NationalNativeAmericanHeritageMonth, our team at Chariho School District in RI partnered with the Narragansett Tribe and Tomaquag Museum to celebrate culture through food! High school students, staff, and community members enjoyed an Indigenous-inspired meal as part of the USDA-funded SCALES grant, which connects students with locally sourced ingredients. The menu, guided by Silvermoon of the Narragansett Tribe, featured dishes like Pumpkin-Honey Johnny Cakes, Narragansett Succotash, and Attitassh Nasamp (Blueberry Cornmeal Mush). This event celebrated traditions, fostered cultural understanding, and strengthened community ties. #ServingUpHappyandHealthy

With the demand for fresh, local produce on the rise, we're taking farm-to-table to a new level for students! Our Farm to School initiative brings the authentic farmers market experience directly to schools across the nation. 🥕🌽 From exploring fresh fruits and veggies to "shopping" with play money, our farmers market events give students a hands-on way to learn about healthy eating, budgeting, and even math. For over a decade, the Chartwells team at Monroe Township Public Schools has proudly supported Honor Flight of New Jersey, helping create unforgettable moments for veterans from WWII, Korea, and Vietnam. Twice a year, these heroes are celebrated with a heartfelt breakfast send-off as students line the halls to cheer them on their journey to Washington, D.C. After their day of remembrance, our team welcomes them back with a special buffet dinner and make-your-own sundae bar.
