About us
The mission of the Chester County Department of Economic Development (CCED) is to create an environment that supports existing industry expansion, encourages new industry investments, fosters entrepreneurialism, and welcomes visitation by others—all of which support the provision of public services and otherwise improves each citizen’s prosperity and overall quality of life. Unhampered by urban sprawl and traffic, yet bursting with opportunity, Chester County spans an area of 586 square miles (including six square miles of water). Our population of nearly 33,000 people understands the value of community preservation and hard work, and that business fuels our future. Executives visiting our region consistently commend our pro-business attitude and commitment to making their corporate move an easy, profitable transition. We also offer a cost of living that’s among the lowest in the U.S., and an infrastructure that supports low corporate taxes and utility rates. But what usually wins companies over is our idyllic lifestyle, blending small-town hospitality with close proximity to major metropolitan amenities.

GALLO serves not only joy, but a top notch company culture. Great article by the SC Technical College System in their Edge magazine, featuring their facility in Chester County! They are a great example of how to enter a new community and do it right. #ChooseChester https://lnkd.in/e6fnxyzZ

We had a great turnout to our event celebrating the rollout of our new economic development strategic plan with Creative Economic Development Consulting, LLC and our new retail strategy with Retail Strategies. Crystal Morphis, CEcD and Joshua Davis did a great job hitting the highlights from each plan. Live music provided by Rhonda Rawl and JumpStart. 2025 will be an exciting year for Chester County! #ChooseChester

We had a fabulous turnout for our CDA Annual Banquet at The Gateway Conference Center with more than 120 attendees. 2024 saw 93 economic development projects with around 25% being EV-related and 20% being FDI projects from 11 countries. We are expected FDI activity to be even higher in 2025. Lt. Governor Pamela Evette provided a great keynote and chair Carla French with TruVista provided an update on the CDA. We brought in 6 new members in 2024 and currently have a record 53 paid members, which has more than doubled since 2014. We also brought in a record in membership income, which came in more than $12k over budget. Thank you to Karen Davison and Lawanna Thompson for assisting us in putting together a successful event today. #ChooseChester

We are delighted by Luck Companies' $450 million commitment to South Carolina in six counties. In Chester County, they will be investing $93 million and creating 25 new jobs. This represents a $57.9 million increase in their original plans in Chester County. Looking forward to them breaking ground on their quarry and 75-ac business park in the future. #ChooseChester https://lnkd.in/efCkyUpb
