This Giving Tuesday, our inboxes will be flooded with pleas to give money to support good work. These messages will come from exceptional non-profit organizations with missions to research (and eventually cure) deadly health issues, preserve our endangered architectural wonders, rescue helpless pets, provide shelter for the homeless, maintain museums, beautify parks, and so much more. The Chicago Literary Hall of Fame doesn’t presume to take precedence over those other noble causes. We’ll just leave it at this: we DO need and value financial support, so if you intend to make a donation today, consider us an option. We’re a registered 501(c)(3), so all donations are tax deductible. https://lnkd.in/gxS_qpfY Or: register for our winter fundraiser, The Man With the Golden Amaretto. It’s at Colvin House and will again be a lot of fun. https://lnkd.in/gCaad7pu #GivingTuesday #NonProfit #Chicago #CLHOF #ChicagoLiteraryHallOfFame #ChicagoLit #Literature #History #ChicagoHistory #ChicagoWriters #Writers #Support

For the fifth straight year, the Chicago Literary Hall of Fame will host a cocktail fundraiser. 🍸 We return to the Colvin House, where we’ll split time between the opulent art deco upstairs and decadent speakeasy downstairs. This year’s theme is based on Nelson Algren’s classic novel, The Man with the Golden Arm, which won the first National Book Award in 1950. 🍹Mixologist Ryan Prindle will use amaretto to build a drink menu; he’ll also teach us about the history and how to make these cocktails. Michael Burke and Robert Charles will again serve as our emcees, and Rita Dragonette will help us co-host. Tickets are $125. For more information, or to register, contact Don Evans. #CLHOF #Chicago #ChicagoEvents #ChicagoLiteraryHallofFame
