It was great to be in Tucson for our annual Para Los Niños holiday event 🎄 What a joy to see a little boy beaming over a shiny new soccer ball, a niña glowing as she shared her excitement for the holidays, and parents cherishing watching their children smile 🌟 For parents struggling to make ends meet, filling Christmas stockings can be a challenge. ¡Que poderosas! These domestic violence survivors are thriving ✨ Finances continue to be the biggest obstacle preventing survivors from escaping their abusive partner. Our second DV Economic Empowerment cohort is making their own way by learning the tools to care for their families and follow their dreams. These empowered Latinas are on the path to build credit, become their own signer, and start or expand their small business—including a taquería we will be sure to visit soon 🌮 Along the way, they’ve built a comunidad of lifelong support 🫂 It’s a reminder of our collective strength. Together, we are capable of more than we can imagine 💖

When community heroes step up, magic happens. Los Bomberos donated $5,000 to help us host a gratitude celebration at the CPLC Community Center last week! 💛 Their generosity turned an ordinary day into something extraordinary—a day of connection, alegría, and giving back to the people who make our comunidad special🌟 Moments like these show the strength of what we can accomplish when hearts and hands come together for good.

From a young girl taught to obey, to a mujer who found her voice through education, she now helps others discover their strength through CPLC Amanecer Community Counseling Services. As a domestic violence therapist, Eleanor guides her clients—many seeking help in secret—to realize their worth and rewrite their stories. Together, they challenge harmful norms while holding onto the beauty of cultura.
