It's National School Counseling Week, a time to recognize the invaluable role that school counselors play in supporting students. We’re proud to be a part of the #iCare movement this October in support of Harmony House and survivors of domestic violence. Children were witnesses in 1 of 4 intimate partner violence cases filed in state courts. These children can be traumatized by these violent experiences, but with adults that care and provide guidance, attention, and support can help them heal. At the Child Advocacy Center, we work in partnership to connect our families and children with mental health resources at absolutely no cost.

Join our team! We are hiring a Prevention Education Specialist. The Prevention Education Specialist plays a crucial role in preventing child abuse, raising awareness, and educating our community through school and community-based presentations on child abuse and violence prevention topics. A successful Prevention Education Specialist can interact with a range of audiences, including school professionals, parents, and children of preschool through high school age in a manner that reflects the mission and values of the CAC. October means it’s ChildFirst Missouri week in our state! Helping students recognize healthy vs. unhealthy relationship characteristics is one way The Child Advocacy Center decreases bullying in our schools through prevention education.
