Preschool Education That Transforms Children & Families
About us
WHAT WE DO - Children’s Day Preschool and Family Center (CDP) is a 129-year-old, early child development center in the City of Passaic that provides a full-day, year-round, bilingual preschool program to (117) 2.5- to 5-year-old primarily Latino children and their families. CDP also offers a robust array of health and therapeutic services as well as deep family involvement and support programs that create a highly effective trauma-informed preschool program. We raise private funding for all support services as they are not covered by public funding. These extra services enable us to take a holistic approach to our students - and families- needs and are the reason we achieve outstanding outcomes every year. HOW WE DO IT- With the nationally recognized HighScope curriculum as the cornerstone of our educational program, we create classroom environments that inspire young children to learn, grow, and develop. Committed and passionate classroom teaching staff provide an exceptional, healing-centered educational experience for our children- focusing on the whole child- social/emotional, cognitive, and physical development. The social service department provides the support that supplies the tools and techniques that provide the opportunity for children and families to thrive. We continually refine and implement strategies that have proven to have a positive impact on young students & families, help resolve crises, connect families to resources, & support parents as first teachers & life-long educational advocates. CDP’s Four Pillars: Education | Therapy | Family Support | Nutrition & Wellness OUR MISSION Children’s Day Preschool is on a mission to provide outstanding, high-quality preschool education integrating social and emotional support for our children and their families. Using a holistic approach, we create a safe haven and provide the tools needed through education and therapeutic programs that respond to, and respect, their diversity, culture, & unique needs.

We’re thrilled to announce the inaugural winner of the CDP Alumni Scholarship, Ashley Hernandez! Inspired by an idea from our Social Service Manager, Emily Cantu to keep motivating our graudates to continue their education, we recently launched a small scholarship to be awarded each year to one former CDP student who is graduating from one of the Passaic High Schools and going on to post-high school studies. Ashley has fond memories of her time at CDP and after graduating from Passaic County Technical-Vocational Schools in June, is now pursuing her dreams at Monmouth University majoring in Business Administration. She embodies the spirit of growth and determination that Children’s Day seeks to foster. Congratulations, Ashley — we are so proud to have been a part of your journey and can’t wait to see all the incredible things you accomplish! #CDPFC #Scholarship #Education #Alumni #Award #EarlyChildhoodEducation #FutureLeaders #CommunityImpact
