Kapural - Current Knowledge and Future Developments 🌐🎥 Watch the full lecture at: https://lnkd.in/gQ-8T43n This video features spinal cord stimulation (SCS) for pain management. The presenter outlines patient selection criteria, noting the importance of evaluating neuropathic vs. non-susceptive pain, responsiveness to blocks, and psychological assessments. They highlight that long-term SCS success can be predicted by factors such as sex, pain type, and psychological state. Newer waveforms and closed-loop stimulation show promise for better outcomes. Challenges like high opioid use and insurance issues are also discussed. Diagnostic blocks are emphasized for predicting SCS success. The session aims to provide a comprehensive understanding of effective SCS patient management. Join PainCast Pro for unlimited access to exclusive videos and lectures from leading physicians. Propensity matched analysis comparing novel therapy to standard treatment is an elegant way to build an evidence for #spinalcordstimulation (SCS) for #chronicabdominalpain (CAP) Here we showed that SCS provided longer pain relief than #splanchnic #radiofrequencyablation in this propensity-matched study. Pain scores and opioid usage were significantly less at 12-month follow-up when SCS was used for control of CAP. #chronicpancreatitis, #gastroparesis #postsurgical #abdominalpain
