The new ICS floor at the Royal United Services Institute in Whitehall. Photo taken by Laurence Geller who is largely responsible for the new ICS - RUSI partnership. My friend artist Paul Rafferty at the gala dinner in the National Gallery, London. Paul is the creator of the now famous, ‘Churchill Painting’ sculpture along with a new Churchill bust. The Churchill Society of Tennessee had the honor of presenting Allen Packwood OBE, with a cash contribution towards the new Churchill Archive in Cambridge. Finally, a photo with the Hon James Cleverly, former MP and a conference keynote speaker. This year is the 150th anniversary of Churchill’s birth and could not have been marked more appropriately than by the 2024 ICS London conference. The Churchill Society on Tennessee will take its turn to celebrate the 150th Anniversary with a gala dinner in Nashville on November 8 and a birthday party on Nov 30!

The CSOT was honored to host Allen Packwood OBE, Director of the Churchill Archives at Cambridge, for Sunday brunch at the Belle Meade Country Club on July 7. Allen delivered a powerful presentation taken from his new book 'Churchill's D-Day' to a capacity audience. We hope to see you back soon Allen!

  • On June 6, 2024, the 80th anniversary of D-Day landings in Normandy, Randolph Churchill, great grandson of Sir Winston Churchill, among other dignitaries dedicated a new statue of Churchill at the McDougall Centre in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. Afterwards, 250 guests attend a celebratory banquet at the Heritage Motor Museum. The larger than life $300,000 statue depicting the war time British Prime Minister was funded by the Winston Churchill Society of Calgary and was the work of sculptor Danek Mozdzenski. Bravo and well done to the Winston Churchill Society of Calgary for producing this powerful image of a great leader!

On Monday night, an exclusive audience gathered at the Royal United Services Institute to celebrate the new strategic partnership between RUSI, the oldest and the leading defence and security think tank and the International Churchill Society (ICS). The initiative was driven by the visionary leadership of Laurence Geller CBE, who retired as ICS’s chairman last year after nearly two decades, and is a current Board member of RUSI. This event was marked by the presence of esteemed guests including Lord Cameron, of Chipping Norton, the Foreign Secretary, who eloquently shared his insights on the enduring relevance of Winston Churchill in today's complex geopolitical landscape. The evening was not just a formal event but a celebration of exciting future plans and shared interests, it was accompanied by magnums of Churchill's favourite Champagne Pol Roger and canapés.  It brought together many distinguished individuals including members of the House of Lords, members of parliament, historians and eminent members of the defence and security industry. Also in attendance were members of the Churchill family, Young Churchillians, and members of both RUSI and ICS, all united in their admiration for Churchill's legacy and the leadership of Laurence Geller, without whom this partnership would not have been possible. We extend our deepest thanks to everyone who contributed to making the evening truly memorable. Here's to advancing defence and security principles globally while building upon Churchill’s legacy to preserve and protect freedom and democracy. We look forward to continuing Laurence Geller's remarkable efforts, and to future endeavours that will keep Churchill's spirit alive and relevant in both thought and action. Keep following us for more photos and videos from the event and of our esteemed guests.  #thinkchurchill #churchill #winstonchurchill RUSI NextGen
