CI Best Practice

I believe a teacher is only as good as his students’ achievements. Troy Pfeffer is one of my earlier CIP™ (actually, a Master level, CIP™-II). He created what might very well have been the best internal intelligence network in the US while at Cintas. Now he is a co-founder of a new venture, CI Best Practice (cibestpractice.com) This post is to celebrate his entrepreneurial side. The new venture is a novel idea of a guided networking platform for new CI practitioners. It is desperately needed. The first two years on the job are the toughest. Companies throw you in without training, setting you up to fail. One needs to prove one’s value to the company without actually being taught the true value of CI. Relying on information platforms as a crutch is a big mistake resulting in dead careers. Attending conferences doesn’t help one bit unless one looks to be inundated with almost as many vendors as peers (no joke). Where would one go to get practical support without an agenda? I think CI Best Practice idea is grand. I hope it is executed impartially and wisely, having the best interest of the members at heart. We all need someone to hold our hand – without an agenda- at some point in our careers. Crossing my fingers for you, Troy.
