About us

Located in scenic Eden Park, the Cincinnati Art Museum features an unparalleled art collection of more than 65,000 works spanning 6,000 years. In addition to displaying its own broad collection, the Art Museum also hosts several national and international traveling exhibitions each year. Visitors can enjoy the exhibitions or participate in the Art Museum’s wide range of art-related programs, activities and special events. General admission is always free for all, plus Art Museum members receive additional benefits. The Art Museum is open six days a week, making greater Cincinnati’s most treasured cultural asset accessible to everyone. The Cincinnati Art Museum is supported by the generosity of individuals and businesses that give annually to ArtsWave. The Ohio Arts Council helped fund the Cincinnati Art Museum with state tax dollars to encourage economic growth, educational excellence and cultural enrichment for all Ohioans. The Cincinnati Art Museum gratefully acknowledges operating support from the City of Cincinnati, as well as our members.

Now on view in our Conversations Gallery—Human Rights Portfolio / Carpeta Derechos Humanos The special feature is a collaboration between SOS Art and Taller Burro Press in Oaxaca, Mexico. The purpose of the portfolio is to challenge artists to create images and messages around human rights through a collaborative process across different cultures. The portfolio consists of woodcuts by 12 Oaxaca artists and 12 Cincinnati-area artists, each focusing on a specific human right. The artists also supplied personal comments on their theme and a biography. Free admission. SOS ART and Taller Burro Press, which printed the portfolio, split the proceeds of its sale. SOS ART intends to use the funds regionally for art exhibitions, workshops, and educational programs. . . . . 👏 Please join us in welcoming our 2025 Rosenthal Education Center (REC) Artist in Residence—Karen Saunders! Karen is a multi-disciplinary artist who hopscotched across the Midwest before landing in Cincinnati where she has practiced as an artist and arts educator for nearly three decades. Karen earned a BFA from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee with an emphasis on ceramics and an MA in Art Education from Miami University, Oxford, Ohio. For the better part of 20 years, Karen has worked with diverse audiences at local institutions such as the Cincinnati Art Museum and the Kennedy Heights Arts Center while exhibiting her work at the Contemporary Arts Center, Canton Art Museum, Richmond Art Museum, and 21c Museum/Hotel. The fantastical landscapes of the mysterious self-taught artist L. A. Roberts (in Gallery 219) inspired Karen’s multi-sensory, family friendly installation You And Me And The Space Between: Our Expedition Starts Now. This work opens to the public on May 3, 2025. Stay tuned for more information about Karen’s residency and associated programming!
