Back at an IMAX theater for the weekend debut of THE BEEKEEPER, sporting my new Imax sweater. The great folks at Cinépolis Cinemas USA @ Polk County took great care of us once again! Kudos to Talia and her team! The film was enjoyable and I'm looking forward to a rewatch in my home theater. The story is based around a scam that happens daily around the globe, so there was some relevance about the film. Actions scenes reminded me of the over the top movies from the 80s, yet still fun. And Jason Statham played one of his all to familiar roles. The video seemed to have to high of contrast sometimes, yet not overly distracting. The immersive surround sound was very enveloping, with only a couple of comments from my son-in-law about it seeming too loud. I'm glad I spent the extra $$$s for a PLF presentation. The Cinépolis Cinemas USA Imax Polk County theater is a fantastic place to see a movie. There is ample parking and the IMAX screen is gigantic, bright, and clear. The folks there know how to make your buttered popcorn right, too (i.e., 3/4 full, add butter, top off the popcorn, add butter). Seating is very comfortable, though the older style seats that have not been converted to recliners yet.
