Bridging the gap between talent & crew

About us

Our Mission: To empower underrepresented filmmakers and actors by providing comprehensive education and community-building opportunities, fostering confidence, and expanding their networks within the film industry. Our Vision: To build an industry where underrepresented filmmakers and actors have equal opportunities to succeed and are celebrated for their individuality and unique storytelling. We foster an environment where diversity and inclusion are at the forefront, resulting in stories informed by a multitude of voices and perspectives. By creating a supportive network, providing a platform for collaboration, and emphasizing the importance of education, we champion our community through every stage of the filmmaking process, ensuring that each individual, regardless of their background, can thrive and be recognized for their unique artistic vision. What We Do: We empower our community through a variety of innovative programs and events. In addition to our core team, we partner with industry leaders on both the vendor and creator sides to facilitate year-round workshops and educational initiatives. We produce industry-leading podcasts, including the Cinematography for Actors podcast and the Indiewood podcast, providing valuable insights and industry knowledge on a weekly basis. Our CFA Institute programs offer hands-on labs and year-round networking opportunities for both talent and crew. Our networking events, more affectionately called, community-building events foster the careers of emerging, talented filmmakers. Although based in Los Angeles, our reach extends far beyond the local community. We prioritize live streaming our events to a global audience and recording them for future access, ensuring our educational initiatives are accessible worldwide. Additionally, we offer fiscal sponsorship, allowing filmmakers to receive tax-deductible donations and grants, facilitating the funding and realization of their creative projects.

  • Did you know that with CFA's Fiscal Sponsorship Program, you can unlock more than just traditional grants? Here are four creative benefits filmmakers often overlook: 1. Tax-Deductible Donations: Your donors, even individuals or small businesses, can enjoy tax benefits by supporting your project through CFA’s 501(c)(3) umbrella. 2. Unlock Exclusive Grants: Many arts grants and sponsorships require non-profit status—fiscal sponsorship gets you in the door without the hassle of starting your own non-profit. 3. Collaborate with Brands: Collaborate with brands for in-kind donations or product placements while showcasing their philanthropic involvement. 4. Focus on Filmmaking, Not Paperwork: CFA handles the back-office tasks, from financial tracking to compliance, so you can focus on storytelling. With these additional benefits, filmmakers can turn ambitious ideas into fully funded projects! Curious about how to get started? Check out CFA’s Fiscal Sponsorship Program today through this link: https://lnkd.in/gQWURVMd
