Reimagining our cities is a fundamental step to creating a new economy that is powered by nature and prospers in symbiosis with nature. Our CEO Marc Palahí gave a keynote speech at the Building a Planetary Solution: Regenerative Architectural Strategies for a Planet in Crisis at Yale University on 21 February. In it, Marc highlighted the need to rethink urbanisation and the key role forests and nature can play in transforming our urban environments. Read more: https://lnkd.in/daipRwQ5

Accelerating the transition to a nature-first circular bioeconomy that is climate neutral, inclusive & powers prosperity
About us
Our extractive economies are reaching ‘end of life’, exhausting the natural resources and systems they and we depend on. We need to rethink our economy if we want to reverse this trajectory and rewrite our future. Established by His Majesty King Charles III, the CBA is a unique, diverse, multi-stakeholder platform. We aim to accelerate the transition to a nature-first economy that is both powered by nature and prospers in harmony with it. The CBA works with scientists, indigenous communities, corporates and local governments to develop Living Labs. These are pilots of nature-first economies, using sustainable value chains to holistically regenerate landscapes and power prosperity in the local community.

The Wildfire Resilient Landscapes Network brings together CBA Affiliate Members to connect unique indigenous and community knowledge and experience in wildfire management with scientific knowledge and tools. Climate change and the way we manage and plan our landscapes is resulting in unprecedented wildfires. The world is witnessing escalating human casualties and serious health impacts, as well as huge economic losses, increased greenhouse gas emissions, and catastrophic loss of the natural world. These new generations of wildfires are exceeding our capacity to suppress them. We need a holistic strategy that minimises the risks of extreme fires breaking out and which also creates resilient landscapes that can recover if a fire should occur. Find out more about the work of the Network, a joint initiative between the CBA and The Commonwealth Secretariat. https://lnkd.in/dExc-hzJ Network members include: Whitefeather Forest Community Resource Management Authority International Savanna Fire Management Initiative Centre de Ciència i Tecnologia Forestal de Catalunya Palladium: Make It Possible @blueforestorg Macquarie University Marc Palahí Antoni Trasobares Rodriguez
