Congratulations to Chunsik Lee, who completed UNF’s OER Initiative and adapted zero-cost course materials for MMC4732/MMC6730. Dr. Lee reports that real-world applications in a social media course are constantly changing, and revamping course materials has positively impacted students’ learning experiences.

The Online Learning Support (OLS) team successfully hosted its inaugural New Quizzes Week! This initiative spotlighted New Quizzes, the innovative assessment tool integrated within Canvas. The week’s events featured daily grab-and-go breakfasts, training sessions, dedicated office hours for support, and our first-ever faculty panel. The panel provided a platform for faculty who have adopted New Quizzes to share their experiences, pedagogical strategies, and valuable insights, fostering a community of practice. These contributions will help the OLS team enhance our efforts in supporting faculty effectively. Stay tuned for more New Quizzes training in the Spring!

🌊 Did you know? The St. Johns River, a cherished landmark of Florida, has its health monitored annually in a report that informs and empowers our community. This year, I had the privilege to play a significant role in the 2024 St. Johns River Report (SJRR) update, an essential resource produced by UNF, Jacksonville University, and Penn State Berks. This project delivers critical data in an accessible format for the public, ensuring transparency and insight into the health of our beautiful river. In my new role with UNF Center for Instruction & Research Technology - CIRT, I was entrusted with updating the SJRR website, integrating fresh data, and enhancing the site for a better user experience. I’m incredibly proud to share that my contributions were acknowledged in the report: “UNF’s Center for Instruction and Research Technology, especially Kayla Little, David Wilson, and Mike Boyles, provided valuable web support…” 🔹 Key Highlights of My Role: - Updating and streamlining the SJRR website for the new 2024 data. - Collaborating with Principal Investigator, Gerry Pinto and Technical Editor, Niki Spadaro. - Ensuring the data is accessible, visually engaging, and informative for the public. It’s been a rewarding journey, and I’m excited to be part of a team that prioritizes impactful, community-centered work. Congratulations to Taylor Drury, who completed UNF’s OER Initiative and adapted zero-cost course materials for PSY2012: Introduction to Psychology. A unique aspect of this project was Drury’s curation of numerous open resources, allowing other faculty who teach the course to select and incorporate these materials into their own teaching as well.
