🚒🌟 Chief Jim DeVisser: A Hero Beyond Borders When Hurricane Milton struck Florida as a Category 3 storm, Corpus Christi’s own Battalion Chief Jim DeVisser stepped up to support recovery efforts. Deployed to Homes Beach in Manatee County by the Texas A&M Forest Service’s All Hazard Incident Management Team, Chief DeVisser provided vital leadership from October 7 to October 29. From mobilizing resources and managing public communications to coordinating across utilities, emergency services, and even the U.S. Postal Service, Chief DeVisser’s dedication was instrumental in the community’s response. “After nearly three decades in CCFD, I’m grateful to bring back knowledge from these experiences to strengthen our own city’s emergency response,” Chief DeVisser shared. With years of experience, including aiding Port Aransas during Hurricane Harvey, Chief DeVisser truly represents the heart of service in Corpus Christi. Thank you, Chief DeVisser, for your leadership and unwavering commitment to helping others! 💙 #CCFD #CorpusChristi #CorpusChristiHeroes
