  • 🐾 Pet of the Week 🐾 This Valentine’s Day marked one year since Amber arrived at The Humane Society of North Myrtle Beach 💔 She was found as a stray, being bullied by other cats, but her finder saw something special in her and reached out to shelters for help. Eventually Amber came to North Myrtle Beach, and she’s been ruling the shelter ever since. Amber is often overlooked because of her strong personality and I’m-the-boss attitude, but she’s a hidden gem. When she chooses you, she loves hard—giving the best head bumps, claiming your lap, and purring so loudly you can hear her from a mile away. She’s also quite the entertainer with her parkour skills and playful antics. Amber prefers to be the one and only queen of her castle…no other animals, please! Basics: Age - 3 Years Old Breed - Domestic Shorthair Size - Medium (6 lbs) Spayed - Yes Adoption Fee - $65 Microchipped and up to date on Vaccines Meet Amber: 843-249-4948 Submit Application: https://lnkd.in/ewZFDJBQ

  • ❄️ Cold Weather Advisory - Stay Safe and Stay Warm ❄️ A Cold Weather Advisory will be in effect beginning at midnight until 9 AM on Friday, February 21. As temperatures drop, please keep in mind the four P's: people, pets, pipes, and plants! Use safe approved heating methods to avoid carbon monoxide poisoning or fire hazards. Reminder: Ovens are not recommended to be utilized to assist in heating a home. Gas ovens create a greater carbon monoxide risk. Electric ovens create greater fire hazard when on for long periods of time. Prepare for the cold and wind chills by ensuring proper insulation of outdoor piping and/or areas where cold drafts allow colder air into your home and having emergency supplies on hand. Consider keeping faucets on a slow drip to help prevent pipes from freezing.
