Taylor Made Texas

About us

Taylor, Texas is a city in the Austin-Round Rock Metropolitan area, just 29 miles northeast of downtown Austin. Highways 79 and 95 intersect in Taylor affording the city a strategic location on the eastern side of Williamson County, one of the fastest-growing counties in the nation according to Forbes Magazine. Williamson County and the Central Austin area are consistently ranked at the top of national and state, lifestyle and economic awards. With affordable housing and good schools -- including a new Taylor High School and Legacy Early College High School (paired with Temple College) -- it's a great place to raise a family. Its historic downtown area is revitalized and has more than 80 historic buildings. Live music and entertainment as well as antique stores, with an Amtrak stop from Austin, make this a place to shop, eat and have fun. Taylor citizens enjoy an excellent quality of life and the natural beauty of the Texas Blackland Prairies. With 310 acres of park space, 13 miles of hike and bike trails, and the Taylor Regional Park & Sports Complex, citizens and visitors can enjoy the city’s world-class parks system and various sporting activities. Taylor, founded in 1876, has a current estimated population of 17,536 within its city limits. As we like to say, we're "Taylor Made Texas."
