Happy Thanksgiving, #GreenvilleSC! We're grateful for a community that welcomes residents and visitors like they're family. Earlier this week Gratefull GVL served more than 5,000 free meals on our Main Street Bridge. Plates were filled, new friendships were formed and generosity was abundant. We wish you joy.

Look around you. If you're in #GreenvilleSC it's hard not to find something to be GRATEFUL for. Whether it is the loved one sitting beside you, the park you are playing in or the local restaurant that's helping to cater your meal, there's a lot of reasons to be THANKFUL. We're thankful for the amazing social media intern Noelle from Clemson University who's been with our Communications Department this fall. Between her final semester of studies and professional disc golfing, we're delighted she found time to spend with us.

As much as we love our jobs and enjoy our co-workers, we're taking Thanksgiving Day OFF to spend time with our families. City offices are closed Thursday, November 28 and Friday, November 29. There will be no trash collection on Thanksgiving Day. Residents with a Thursday pick up will receive service on Friday. Greenlink buses will resume regular routes beginning at 5:30 a.m. on Friday. As always we are grateful to our police officers and firefighters who will work Thanksgiving Day to keep you and your family safe.

Planning to fry your turkey this holiday season? While it’s a popular choice, turkey fryers with large amounts of oil can be dangerous —leading to burns or even fires if not used properly. Watch as the #GCFD demonstrates the dangers of improper turkey frying! For a safe and stress-free holiday, consider alternatives like buying a pre-cooked turkey from your favorite grocery store or restaurant, baking, smoking or using an oil-free fryer. Stay safe and enjoy the holidays!

Prioritizing neighborhood gathering spaces. City Council approved an additional $1.5 million for Service Center upgrades in Southernside and Viola. We are thrilled to provide these communities with locations for meetings, tutoring, parties and events.

On the b-RINK of the holiday season! We're GLIDING in with the opening of United Community Ice On Main. The ceremony included St. Anthony of Padua Catholic School Children’s Choir and the Greenville Figure Skating Club. Public skate sessions are now available ➡️ https://lnkd.in/gM5KBQ43

The table is set for TOGETHERNESS and we're grate-FULL to the brim. Gratefull GVL brought our #GreenvilleSC community to the Main Street Bridge for a free meal for thousands. Thanks to the generosity of local restaurant sponsors, every plate was filled with love. Surplus funds will benefit Mill Village Ministries’ FoodShare Greenville and help feed families all year long.

Plans for Mosaic, a new housing development on Academy Street, are approved by the Design Review Board. The three (3) five-story, mixed-use buildings will include two levels of underground parking. A grocery store is targeted as an anchor tenant. Bonus Height for adding Affordability!
