TRAINING TO BE READY FOR EVERY POSSIBILITY - The Muscatine Fire Department (MFD) and Muscatine Power & Water (MPW) combined to perform a drill at the Muscatine Power facility on Dick Drake Way Tuesday (Nov. 19). MPW ran a simulation with a hazardous leak at the facility and enacted their emergency plan. MFD responded with their ambulance and Hazmat personnel to treat a victim and mitigate the hazardous chemical leak. The simulation was conducted to better prepare MFD and MPW for the unlikely scenario that a chemical leak occurred at the plant and personnel were injured.
