On this Veterans Day, we join our HCA Healthcare family in honoring the contributions and commitment of those who selflessly served in the U.S. Armed Forces. Each veteran makes a positive impact in our communities through their service in and outside of the hospital. HCA Healthcare is proud to have thousands of military colleagues, having hired more than 60,000 veterans, active duty personnel and military spouses since 2012. Today, we extend our heartfelt gratitude to those who have honorably served and their family members. Our military colleagues truly exemplify our mission: Above all else, we are committed to the care and improvement of human life. #HCAVeterans #VeteransDay

Last week Chippenham, the first heart hospital in Virginia, reached another milestone in the Commonwealth for being the first hospital to use a first-of-its-kind dissolvable stent that offers patients who have blocked arteries below the knee, which prevent oxygen and blood flow from reaching the lower leg and foot. The Esprit™ BTK System (BTK standing for below the knee) from Abbott, is designed to keep arteries open and deliver a drug to support vessel healing prior to dissolving over time. It’s inserted during a minimally-invasive surgery and patients usually go home the next day. We’re excited for Dr. Rick Schnatz and his team who accomplished this huge advancement for patients in the fight against heart disease. #weshowup #healthiertomorrows

HCA Virginia Health System colleagues showed up for the 2024 Richmond Heart Walk last Saturday and helped raise over $72,000 for the American Heart Association. We are grateful to each participant and everyone who donated. HCA Virginia earned Top Company and placed first and second in the Top Teams category: CJW Golf Tournament raised a record-breaking $33,505, and Becky's Zoo raised over $22,183. Special thanks to our colleagues recognized as top coaches: Debra Anderson and Karen Bolton from CJW Medical Center and Becky Oatts from Henrico, Parham & Retreat Doctors' Hospitals. “It was exciting to see our HCA Virginia teams come together in such a big way to support the mission of the American Heart Association through this year’s Heart Walk,” said Devin Tobin, chief operating officer at Henrico Doctors’ Hospital. “This event is more than just a walk. It’s a powerful movement to fight heart disease and stroke. By coming together, we made a significant difference in advancing research, education, and community programs that save lives and improve heart health for all.” #WeShowUp #HealthierTomorrows #RichmondHeartWalk

A beautiful October Saturday morning welcomed HCA Virginia colleagues! Teams from Chippenham & Johnston-Willis Hospitals and our sister facilities with Henrico Doctors' Hospital walked together in support of heart health awareness for the 2024 Richmond Heart Walk – an event of the American Heart Association which helps fund research and education on preventing heart disease. Special congratulations to Chippenham & Johnston-Willis Hospitals for being the top team thanks to the record-breaking $33,000 raised at the CJW Golf Tournament (pictured Deb Anderson & Karen Bolton – event organizers of the annual CJW Golf Tournament), to Henrico Doctors’ Hospital’s CEO, Ryan Jensen, and COO, Devin Tobin, who represented HCA Virginia for being the lead organization in fundraising for this year's walk (pictured left to right with AHA’s Executive Director Michelle Nostheide in the middle). So many smiles, on Saturday, knowing coming together and bringing awareness to our community makes the difference in the lives of the communities we’re serving. #weshowup #healthiertomorrows
