Happy Veteran’s Day! Today, we honor veteran Tina, Pharmacy Technician at Clark’s Compounding Pharmacy, whose service to our country as Staff Sergeant in the United States Air Force has left an incredible mark on all of us. Tina served in the USAF from September 1987 through January 2000, totaling 13 years in active duty and reserve services. In ’87, she started her career in the Petroleum, Oils, and Lubricants (POL) field, where she says they “put fuel on anything that moves,” from all types of aircraft to a variety of vehicles. In ’94, she moved to the reserves and became a Medical Technician, before moving back to the front line in POL in ’97. Tina started her career at Loring Air Force Base in Maine, where she says she experienced temperatures of 70 below windchill. From Maine, she moved to Andersen Air Force Base in Guam, where she experienced the complete opposite climate of pleasant tropical temperatures. Then she was stationed at Andrews Air Force Base in Maryland. Her time in the reserves was spent at McChord Field in Washington. One notable experience of Tina’s is that she was in the Air Force active duty at the same time as her dad from September 1987 until April 1988 when he retired. Tina got time off from her service to attend her father’s retirement ceremony, as it was such a special occasion. From winning the Airman of the Year award, to serving in the Honor Guard funeral services, Tina is an inspiration for what it means to serve others.
