The Chinese-affiliated cyber espionage group, Salt Typhoon, breached telecom providers in November 2024, stealing sensitive government and political communications. Optiv + ClearShark president Dan Wilbricht believes attacks like #SaltTyphoon highlight the need for stronger cybersecurity, especially in third-party vendor partnerships, which, while cost-effective, expose new risks. Agencies must conduct thorough due diligence, enforce strict security measures, and regularly audit vendor practices to protect sensitive data. For the first time ever during #OptivKickOff, our full team worked together to end food insecurity and support tomorrow’s cyber leaders! 💡 Through the series of puzzles and challenges hosted by #OptivChipsIn, we donated 120,000 meals to Colorado Feeding Kids, benefiting more than 75 local schools and providing weekend food bags for students. To close out the night, our executive leaders raised the stakes with a dunk tank fundraiser.
