Just before crating and shipping, we took a couple of photographs of the latest 90” (2.3m) diameter LVM-U Venturi meter from Wyatt Engineering (a few of the guys standing by give a better sense of scale, plus we’re really proud of our work). Venturi meter technology was employed by the client due to its long-term accuracy and reliability. Wyatt’s LVM design was preferred because its uncertainty at a 95% confidence interval is substantiated to better than ±0.50% without flow calibration. Not only is this accuracy much better than a standard ASME/ISO Venturi design, the LVM’s permanent pressure loss is less than 20% that of the standard ASME/ISO short-form design. With low energy consumption and superior accuracy providing a minimal carbon footprint, Wyatt Engineering’s 90” LVM-U will provide Los Angeles, California with potable water for the 2028 Summer Olympics and for the century beyond.
