  • We’re focused on 2026. Our recruiting strategy requires mapping out electoral opportunities years in advance and convincing promising women to devote significant time - years - to plotting out their future win. Early, targeted recruiting has been the missing link in the candidate support ecosystem. The patriarchy doesn't sleep on opportunities to get ahead of the pack, and we don't either. A new generation of elected women will serve as the front line of protection for our most vulnerable communities in the months and years to come, when California’s leadership will set the bar for other states.

  • For the first time since 2011, the number of women serving in Congress will decline as a result of November congressional elections, according to Center for American Women and Politics. In 2025, 150 women will serve in Congress, fewer than the 151 who were serving as of Election Day 2024. • Stephanie Robertson was interviewed by Rich Eisen on the Capitol Weekly Podcast last week. She spoke a little about what the Capitol looked like when she started compared to what it looks like today: "When I came in the legislature in '98/'99, the legislature didn’t necessarily look like me, a young black woman coming from a rural neighborhood. Over time you started to see that trend change with more female lobbyists. You didn’t see a lot of women chiefs of staff, let alone women of color chiefs of staff. We’re starting to see that now. We’re starting to see all these great women of color heading up state departments."

  • Make no mistake, there is POWER in gender parity– the 2025-26 Legislative Session includes the greatest number of women leading committees in history. Women currently hold 51% of all standing committee chairships, up from just 23% a decade ago! Chairs set the agenda for their committees, ensuring that important issues are addressed, that initiatives harmful to key communities are halted or revised, and that critical legislative solutions reach the floor for a vote. When it comes to issues that matter most to Californians, we need leaders who share our priorities at the head of the decision-making table.
