Congratulations to Stephanie Manning, this year's L. Thomas Wolff, M.D. Scholarship recipient! Stephanie Manning has a remarkable journey that led her to pursue a career in healthcare. Stephanie grew up in Steuben County and earned her first bachelor’s degree from DeSales University in Pennsylvania and later a master’s in fine arts from the University of California, Irvine. After a successful career in the performing arts, life events, including her daughter’s diagnosis of Angelman Syndrome, inspired her to transition into nursing. Stephanie’s experience in critical care, emergency departments, occupational health, and volunteer roles has prepared her for her current pursuit of a Nurse Practitioner master’s degree. Her passion for addressing healthcare needs in rural communities drives her forward. From school nursing to emergency care, she recognizes the gaps in healthcare access and envisions a future where healthcare is brought to the community—whether in schools, homes, or clinics. As she enters her final year of the MSN, FNP-Community Health program, Stephanie’s commitment to rural healthcare echoes the values of Dr. L. Thomas Wolff. We are excited to see her continue her journey and make a lasting impact on the communities she serves. Congratulations, Stephanie!
