Last year, Congress left kids with cancer behind. Today, 64 CAC2 member organizations joined over a dozen other organizations urging the new Congress to make them the first order of business. Children with cancer have waited long enough–it’s time to finish the job. For families facing the reality of childhood cancer, we understand that the holiday season can amplify feelings of grief, anxiety, and isolation. It’s a time when the emotional toll of this journey is often felt most deeply. That’s why the Childhood Cancer Hub (CCH)—a global platform connecting families to critical resources and offering support and tools for coping in either active treatment or as a survivor was created. This season, we are here to remind every family that they are not alone. Together, through the CCH, we are bringing light and hope to those who need it most. Meet T.J. Koerner, PhD, a new member of CAC2 Board of Directors. His career has been in cancer research. T.J. helped manage the Research Department at the global headquarters of the American Cancer Society where among other efforts he did much to promote collaboration. Dr. Koerner is now choosing to spend energy supporting childhood cancer efforts by promoting collaboration in the many aspects in dealing with a cancer diagnosis in a child or young adult. He’s been fortunate to work with colleagues to collaborate across organizations to support childhood cancer research, in correlative science an important area often lacking funds. Beyond his professional endeavors, T.J. enjoys travel, values the relationships he has built throughout his career and cherishes time spent with his family and friends. #MeetTheBoard
