  • 🛣️ Work has begun on the full reconstruction of Old Highway 77! 🛣️ Barricades have been set up at the intersection of Old Highway 77 and Ruben Torres Sr. Boulevard to prevent traffic from heading onto the northbound lane of the roadway, which is closed to traffic until further notice. 🚧 👉 If you are traveling on Old Highway 77, you can enter the southbound lane from Morrison Road, Gilson Road, or McAllen Road. With $13 million dedicated to this ambitious effort, we’re making a significant investment in our city’s future. This project is part of a larger $31 million fund, approved by the City Commission, to enhance our roads and infrastructure. 🚜 Once complete, Old Highway 77 will have: ✅ New driving lanes ✅ Sidewalks ✅ Shared-use pathways ✅ Improved drainage systems thanks to a $5.1M investment by the Brownsville Public Utilities Board. Thank you for your patience as we work to improve our infrastructure! For more information call 956-546-HELP | (956-546-4357) or visit brownsvilletx.gov #BTXRGV
