AI has almost endless possibilities, but we know that it functions so much better with a human touch. That's where #HITL comes into play. Human-in-the-loop (HITL) processes refer to the integration of human expertise, intuition, and decision-making into various stages of an automated system or artificial intelligence (AI) development, validation, and deployment. These processes aim to strike a balance between the efficiency and scalability of AI and the contextual understanding, empathy, and ethical considerations provided by human input. While not a panacea, human-in-the-loop processes are an important tool for avoiding unintended consequences. The incorporation of human judgment in #AI-driven #healthcare systems is particularly important: each patient’s situation is unique, and ethical considerations are often at the forefront.
