This Hispanic Heritage Month we want to highlight one of our success stories: Kevin Botello. Many people leave home to go to another country in pursuit of a better future, but not many do so at the age of 15 with no adult support. Kevin Botello’s journey is a testament to his determination and resilience. Born in Boulder, Colorado, Kevin is the second of three children. His parents immigrated from Mexico City, sacrificing much to give their children the advantages of being Americans. Kevin’s parents instilled in him a love for learning and the belief that education was the key to a successful future. This guidance led Kevin to set his sights on higher education in the U.S. Now, as he looks forward to the next phase of his academic journey, Kevin is thrilled to be heading to Colorado School of Mines. He will be majoring in engineering and playing soccer for the university. The prospect of exploring all aspects of the college’s academic landscape and being part of an active community is incredibly motivating to him.
