CollX helps answer one of the most basic questions that any collector has: “What’s this worth?” The mobile app, initially for iOS and Android, enables users to take a picture of a collectible, identify it, and get the current market value. CollX is launching with support for baseball cards, followed shortly by all sports cards, trading card games like Magic and Pokemon, and soon comics and other collectibles. Once an item is added to your collection, you can track that item’s value over time, just as you can your overall portfolio. One of the trickiest things when scanning and adding cards to CollX is making sure you have the right version. With modern cards, there can be dozens and dozens of parallels, and to state the obvious, CollX’s visual search doesn’t always get you to the right one. Fixing a mis-mapped card can be a chore — one we want to make a little less painful. With the latest update to the CollX app on iOS and Android, we’ve changed the way parallel picking works. Now all variations with the same card number and player are grouped. From the Camera drawer, Scan Results view, and Edit Card Details views, you can now tap on the parallel bar and scroll through a full list, including the card images (when available), serial numbers (e.g. #/99), and parallel names. Remember to update your app to get this new functionality.
