Colorado’s epic views, thriving wildlife, flowing water, and fantastic opportunities for an active outdoor lifestyle are what unite and interconnect us all. But most of us never get the chance to learn about why land trusts work to protect these outstanding natural resources and how that protection gets done. CLS is your bridge to a deep understanding of conservation in Colorado and a way to explore and expand your own conservation ethic. CLS engages a cohort of early- to mid-career professionals from diverse professional industries (e.g., law, real estate, finance, agriculture, philanthropy) in a nine-month, immersive experience that weaves together a series of unique field and learning experiences to discover the issues and complexities of land and water conservation in Colorado. In 2025, we have a total of ten incredible experiences planned – including a new two-day trip in southeastern Colorado! The program kicks off in March and culminates in early November. If you are a professional that might be interested in this type of learning experience (or can recommend a colleague or contact who might be interested) learn more and apply by February 5 at https://lnkd.in/gwN_VGcK!

  • It’s that time of the year again! Our Conserved Colorado Holiday Guide is available now to download for the festive season. As a community, let’s support landowners and businesses who have given Coloradans the ultimate gift by permanently protecting their land. If you’re new to Conserved Colorado, welcome! Conserved Colorado is a directory of products and experiences you can purchase that are produced or offered on protected land across the state. The guide is segmented into regions, allowing you to shop near your home or during your travels! In addition, we always include stories from the land, and other engaging information all about land conservation. The highlights of this guide include: - Gift ideas for your loved ones this holiday season, including shippable items! - A sampling of publicly accessible conserved land you can adventure on this winter – featuring protected land held by eight different land trusts! - A story from Colorado Youth Outdoors focused on building relationships in Northern Colorado. - A winter-themed outdoor activity for junior conservationists that can be done in a neighborhood park, on a nature walk, or in any of the conserved open spaces across our state. Download your guide at ConservedColorado.Org! If you’re looking for a printed guide, reach out to Yvonne Schramm at YSchramm@ColoradoOpenLands.org.

  • In a state with unpredictable weather, water conservation is top of mind for many Coloradans. Conserving water isn’t just about saving a few drops; it’s about coming together to protect the rivers and streams that nurture our communities and ecosystems. It’s a shared commitment to keeping our beautiful state vibrant and healthy for everyone, including the fish and wildlife that depend on our waterways.
