Our approach at Colorado Pain Care: Step 1: Provide options* and let the patient guide the decision tree. Step 2: PT/DM opt/HEP/Sympathetics Step 3a: Respond to diagnostic LA inj. at nerve target? Yes. Offer: PNS trial. Step 3b: SCS if PNS is not covered. *Options are provided based on patient desires during the consent process. 👉Pearls: • Certain SCS devices have FDA approval for painful diabetic foot. • PNS is less invasive but does not have FDA approval. • There is no head to head study yet. • More peer reviewed evidence would be helpful. 📢 Deep peroneal nerve stimulation for end stage chronic foot pain. Does it work?
