About us

At ComEd, we believe in being an energy partner, not just an energy provider. Being a provider means we deliver electricity to over 4 million customers across northern Illinois, which accounts for about 70 percent of the state’s population. We do so safely and reliably because we are driven by the innovation that comes from the industry expertise our employees offer. And we're committed to pursuing best-in-class performance so that our customers receive the quality service they expect and deserve. We have championed investments in technology that help shorten outages and make them less frequent, and those investments empower our customers to make smart choices about energy usage. Being a partner means we also help our customers discover new ways to save money on electric bills, while also showing how they can help the environment by decreasing their carbon footprint. We also support a range of initiatives that make a difference in people’s lives. Our commitment focuses on education, environment, arts and culture, and community development. At ComEd, #PoweringLives isn’t just a motto. It is the driving force behind everything we do. Learn more about ComEd anytime at www.ComEd.com.

President & CEO of ComEd - an Exelon company. We are powering the lives of more than 9 million northern Illinoisians.

The air was chilly, but the water was… FREEZING! Still, there’s nowhere I’d rather be in early March than North Avenue Beach, taking the (#LakeMichigan) “2025 Polar Plunge Chicago” with over 600+ ComEd and Exelon colleagues. Together we raised nearly $340,000 (so far) for Special Olympics Illinois and Special Children's Charities. 👉 https://lnkd.in/dkRbv7g2 Thank you to our corporate partners who joined and supported us today: Aldridge Electric; Burns & McDonnell; Deloitte;E-J Electric Installation Co.; INTREN, LLC; Kiewit; MJ Electrical Services Limited; Okta; West Monroe Grateful to Paula Conrad, Evelyn Rodríguez Estrada and their teams for leading and organizing our participation. (VIDEO: That’s me reaching my hand out to my wife Paula Kieffer holding one of the 3 ComEd flags and leading our team to plunge along with co-executive sponsors Joshua Levin, CFO of ComEd and Sunny Elebua, Chief Strategy & Sustainability Officer of Exelon).

We’re proud to join local leaders to celebrate the grand opening of the newest Edged Data Center in Aurora! Edged builds and operates a global network of ultra-efficient, AI-ready data centers with waterless cooling for more sustainable operations. We supported this large-scale project by delivering necessary infrastructure upgrades needed to support its operation. Power availability has been cited as a key driving factor for Edged’s decision to locate the project here in Illinois. The Edged Chicago campus uses significantly less energy than traditional data centers and consumes zero water for cooling. “ComEd is committed to powering impactful economic development projects that create local jobs and drive investment within northern Illinois,” said Melissa Washington, our Senior Vice President of Customer Operations and Strategic Initiatives. “The new Edged facility in Aurora is advancing sustainable data center operations to best serve a data-driven future. We look forward to delivering the infrastructure necessary to ensure your continued operation.” With nearly 80 active data center customers in Illinois, our service territory is home to one of the fastest-growing data center markets in the world.
