After my visit to Singapore and MEDIAWEN international's participation in Singapore Week of Innovation and Technology (SWITCH) alongside the 40 European startups supported by Eureka Network, I'm now in #India for several weeks. India is a country full of paradoxes, with as many promises as challenges. My first week in India was spent in Delhi, which, as on my last visit at the same time, suffers from extreme pollution. This makes daily life difficult and certainly risky for health, despite the capital's tourist and economic interest. So it was a relief to travel to #Bhubaneshwar, capital of the state of #Odisha. A densely populated state bordering the Bay of Bengal. This is where the majority of our Indian partner Braahmam International's team is based. Accompanied with the most attentive care by Biraj Rath and his staff, I get to meet some of the people I only knew on screen. I met the other young and competent members of the team handling projects and customers from many countries. Management is attentive to the well-being of its employees and to their career paths. Several students are embarking on their first professional careers with this SME, which has been recognized for its excellence for almost 25 years. Together, we tackle the Indian market, its many languages, cultures and traditions. Did you know that the state of Odisha is home to the #Odia language, one of India's 22 official languages? Nearly 40 million people speak it every day, well ahead of English or even Hindi. 40 million speakers, that's quite an audience, don't you think? My hosts have put together a magnificent program to help me understand this complex and fast-changing country. In addition to business meetings with tech players and corporate leads, I visit exceptional sites: Hindu temples, Buddhist monasteries, museums, villages of amazingly talented craftsmen. And in between, I discover a state of exuberant nature, with immense rice fields and preserved forests.
