About us
Community Boating, Inc. (CBI) is the nation's oldest and largest non-profit, public sailing program, operating affordable and accessible programs for children, adults and individuals with special needs under the mission of 'Sailing for all.' The mission of Community Boating, Inc. is to enable “Sailing for All.” We offer sailing and other water sports to people of all ages, abilities, and means in the greater Boston area. We promote an accessible and welcoming environment that encourages learning, volunteerism, and community spirit. Community Boating serves the metropolitan Boston Community by enhancing the overall quality of city life. The scope of our organization encompasses a diverse population. In 2017 we had 1100 juniors, 5000 adults, 350 universal access sailors, and 235 high school sailors from over 30 towns and communities in the metropolitan Boston area. Many of our members are residents of Boston and its surrounding neighborhoods. On the larger scale, thousands of people worldwide have learned how to sail at CBI. Our Junior members span all economic levels and ethnic groups.
