At CMX1, we see every day how a well-executed data strategy can transform operational efficiency and resilience. James Goodale is absolutely right—simply digitizing old processes often misses the bigger picture. Our approach focuses on rethinking workflows to get the most from clean, standardized data, because when insights are actionable, organizations can truly innovate. Seeing customers overcome challenges, like managing cold chain risks in real-time, is a testament to the power of streamlined data flows and automation. We’re dedicated to helping companies make that leap—not just with tools, but with guidance that evolves alongside them. Thanks, James for highlighting the importance of a thoughtful, adaptive approach to data management! #DataDriven #CMX1 #BusinessInsights #DataStrategy #OperationalExcellence https://lnkd.in/gWd4TEhg

As a CIO, I’ve seen firsthand how powerful data can be when it drives action. But let’s face it: many companies are still struggling to make the most of their data. Did you know 90% of today’s data has been created in just the last two years? Yet, only 3% of enterprise data meets basic quality standards. If we want to harness this potential, we need to rethink how we manage our data. One big mistake I see is trying to drop old processes into shiny new systems. It just doesn’t work that way. Moving from pen-and-paper workflows to digital tools isn’t just about copying what you’ve always done; it’s about reimagining and streamlining how things get done. When clean, standardized data is at the core of operations, everything runs smoother. In fact, companies that implement effective data management practices are 40% more likely to achieve their financial goals. Imagine unlocking efficiencies you didn’t think were possible. But it doesn't stop there. A solid data strategy needs to evolve. 70% of business leaders say data governance is essential for digital transformation. This means staying engaged and making adjustments as your needs change. Here’s a real-world example: We once helped a customer pinpoint a supply chain issue—a truck’s faulty refrigeration threatened to spoil product deliveries. Thanks to the right data flow and automated reporting, they identified the problem quickly, resolved it, and kept both their bottom line and customer satisfaction intact. So, if you’re looking to build a strong data strategy, keep these points in mind: 1. Start with clear goals: Know what you’re aiming for. 2. Understand your data: Map out what you have and spot gaps. 3. Choose the right partner: Collaborate with experts who align with your vision. 4. Redesign, don’t copy: Use the switch to digital tools as a chance to rethink processes. 5. Refine over time: Your strategy should grow with your business. In this fast-paced world, adapting is not just an option—it’s a necessity. Let’s keep pushing forward together! What’s your biggest challenge with data? I’d love to hear your thoughts!

Sr. Solutions Engineer at CMX1, enthusiastically powering everyday excellence in the world’s most trusted brands | Safety, Quality, Compliance, and Data Analytics

The Integrity of Action: Protecting Public Health with Proactive Recall  Management As a Senior Solutions Engineer at CMX1 (ComplianceMetrix), the most fulfilling part of my job is helping our clients navigate their most critical moments. Those critical moments may range from brainstorming new functionality in response to changing regulations, to developing the right dashboards for real-time insights. But the safety and well-being of our clients’ guests and customers is always the most critical, constant mission, and, without a doubt, that mission’s most critical moment is when the decision about whether or not to conduct a recall is on the table. Over the past few decades, I—we all—have learned hard lessons about our industry’s complex history and listened to the individuals and families devastated by avoidable illnesses and deaths. And we’ve watched companies move from rock-solid financial darlings to near-bankruptcy when difficult decisions were delayed. But we’ve also watched as food safety heroes and organizations have appeared, as new regulations have been put in place, and I’ve personally seen clients move from vulnerability to strength when they were empowered to act quickly. We don’t hear enough about those moments. One night this week, the CMX1 team stayed up late with some clients. We worked side-by-side—or screen-by-screen—to ensure a recall was conducted according to industry best practices and their often more stringent brand standards. These clients have realized that recalls aren’t about managing a checklist—they are about protecting lives and jobs and preserving hard-won trust in brands. The companies provided their teams with the right tools and then empowered them to make the right decisions. It’s this kind of proactive mindset that makes all the difference in food safety and supply chain management today. When teams have the right tools, they’re not just spotting issues faster—they’re able to respond smoothly, reduce risks, and keep things running with as little disruption as possible. The recall process is never easy, but with the proper infrastructure in place, seamless communication workflows, and rapid mobilization, it doesn’t have to be confusing, it doesn’t have to be scary, and it doesn’t have to be chaotic. That is how you move the recall decision-making process from one of fear and uncertainty to one of strength and integrity. This week, I witnessed, in real-time, a company protecting its customers and protecting its brand, and I was filled with pride that we work with companies with that level of integrity and commitment to public safety. It is a privilege to work with people who are ready to act when the stakes are high. It raises my game, my company’s game, and this industry’s game. Empower people with the right tools and the authority to make the decisions, and watch them build trust, protect public health, and strengthen your brand.

🚨1300% increase in food & beverage recalls since 2018—and it’s not slowing down. The headlines from just the past week tell the story: - 10 million pounds of meat recalled over listeria contamination - Frozen waffles pulled from major retailers due to listeria risk - E. coli outbreak linked to top QSR chain across multiple states - 7,100 bottles of antidepressants recalled, now in the 2nd highest FDA risk class And with recalls expected to rise another 17% in 2024, it’s worth asking: How prepared are we for the next one? That’s where CMX1 comes in. Trusted by some of the world’s top brands, RecallsX1 helps them manage and mitigate recalls efficiently—whether they’re tackling issues early or navigating through a full-scale crisis. Our platform keeps every step streamlined and organized, so nothing falls through the cracks, even as new information comes to light. When managing recalls isn’t just about staying compliant but protecting consumers and brand reputation, being prepared makes all the difference. https://hubs.li/Q02VyMPD0
