Could your content be missing your most important stakeholder — your audience? 🤔 We loved having Robyn Showers, Director of Content at Apollo.io, on our latest episode of Content Matters. She reminded us to advocate for our audience with our content if we want to avoid making bad impressions at scale. 💜 Listen to the full episode here: ➡️ https://hubs.la/Q02_YZ0q0
This isn't the first time I've said this, and it probably won't be the last. I have no interest in making a bad impression, at scale. I've been working in content for a long time now, and finding content-channel fit -- building distribution into the strategy from the start -- is absolutely crucial to a successful content function. (It's called content ✨marketing✨ for a reason, yeah?) But let's face it -- a lot of us have lost the thread while doing everything we can to optimize for the channel, whether that's search or social or something else. Above all else, our content has to build affinity with the audience. If we miss that, we miss everything. How do you make sure you're speaking your customer's language and not getting caught up in the dialect of the channel? 🚨PSA: Don't sleep on Compose.ly's podcast, Content Matters, hosted by Nicole MacLean and produced by the brilliant team over at Share Your Genius! Thanks Nicole and team for having me on and letting me get on allllll the soapboxes. Links to listen in the comments!
