  • One of the early morning pours in Conway, SC with Gemini Concrete! So far this week, the Conway plant has produced 1,125 cubic yards of the 2,000+ this project will require. This slab will serve as the flooring for the Carolina Lake Storage facility. To impart more durability, added toughness, increased load-carrying capacity, increased crack resistance, and fatigue endurance the slab is three-dimensionally reinforced using 50 pcy of Bekaert steel fiber. A big thank you to Gemini Concrete for trusting Concrete Supply Co. as a partner on this project!

  • Industrial design is more than just a trend—it’s a movement that has shaped the way we experience and interact with spaces. Born in the early 20th century, it emerged as a response to the rapid industrialization and the need for functionality without sacrificing aesthetics. Concrete became a key material in this design revolution, offering not only strength and durability but also a raw, minimalist aesthetic that defines industrial spaces today. From lofts to modern offices, concrete continues to be a go-to choice for designers. Its versatility allows it to adapt to a variety of environments, offering both visual appeal and practicality. Concrete creates spaces that are open, functional, and timeless—perfect for those who appreciate the beauty of simplicity and the power of structural integrity. As industrial design remains at the forefront of modern architecture, concrete’s place in these spaces is assured, proving its lasting relevance and undeniable impact. • The Colosseum in Rome, built nearly 2,000 years ago, is a prime example of concrete's enduring strength. Ancient Romans used a form of concrete made from volcanic ash (pozzolana), lime, and water, which enabled the construction of this massive, iconic structure. Despite earthquakes and centuries of wear, the Colosseum remains a symbol of the resilience of Roman engineering. While modern materials have evolved, the core principle of concrete—its remarkable ability to endure through time—remains unchanged. What concrete innovations do you think will last for centuries to come?
