👥 Full House for Food Talks 👥 Great turnout in last weekend even at -23°C for the Athabasca Grown CFF mini-workshop in the Town of Athabasca! Participants dove into thoughtful discussions about our current food system and the shifts in mindset and behavior needed to build a food system aligned with community priorities. Keleigh Cormier, FCMC shared about the CFF process and work to date and Eileen Kotowich from GOA presented insights into public interactions with local food markets, sparking engaging conversations. And CFF co-founder Perry Phillips sent greetings from down under! Thanks for inviting us Cara Shan & Mike Gismondi and for contributions from Lisa Allan, Kelly Harris-Martin, Lori Claerhout & Pierre Cormier CMC!

Follow Pierre on his on-farm residency
🌾 Introducing On-Farm Residency 🌾 This summer, I’m thrilled to start my On-Farm Residency! My goal? To immerse myself in the daily lives of the incredible farm families and staff who bring agritourism experiences to life for all of us. I’ll be camping out at three select agritourism farms across Alberta during their busy weekends. From dawn till dusk, I'll be part of their world, learning, observing, and appreciating the dedication and passion that goes into providing their unique experiences. Stay tuned for updates, photos, and stories from my weekend residencies. I can't wait to take you all along on this amazing journey! #OnFarmResidency #Agritourism #FarmLife #SummerAdventure #AlbertaFarms

This post by @CorrinaHawkes is very inspirational as a way to look at our #foodsystems #agrifood #transformation #connect #SystemsApproach
When we talk about the #transformation of #foodsystems what are we talking about? Thanks to WPHN Congress 2024 for giving me the opportunity to present on this topic today along with an overview of FAO ‘s vision for #agrifood systems. So, what are we talking about when we talking about transformations of food systems? 👉Transformation of outcomes, which requires… 🍏Transformation of the way food and agricultural is produced, distributed, consumed, and disposed of, which requires.. 👍🏻Transformation of the way we take action - implementing policies and practices that focus on the interconnections in the system This in turn will take: 👉Transformation of governance, knowledge, finance, mindsets, and … 🫱Transformation of learning - we can only transform by learning by doing and… 💪Transformation of #leadership All this will take a transformation of approach - to a #systemsapproach It seems like a lot. In practice, though, it means there is so much opportunity to do something transformative in our sphere of influence. If we all work with transformative intent, being clear what we are trying to transform, transformative work will build, connect and become meaningful.
