About us
The mission of the Connecticut Bankers Association is to represent the financial institutions in the State of Connecticut and to serve as the voice of its members in matters of their common interest. The Connecticut Bankers Association shall support and promote legislative and regulatory actions at the state and federal level that benefit the general welfare of its member institutions, the banking industry and the people of the State of Connecticut. The Connecticut Bankers Association shall encourage and facilitate the interchange of information and ideas among its members. The Association shall serve the collective needs of its members through development of educational programs and providing cost-effective services.

Double Seminars at the DoubleTree in Bristol today!! We are thrilled to have Cindy Donaldson, CHPC hosting a leadership forum this morning while David Sidon, CPA is facilitating an interactive, hands on banking simulation. It’s a full day of learning , collaboration, and decision making.

Yesterday, we hosted the 2024 CRA Workshop in partnership with ICBA CRA Solutions. The event provided a full day of in-depth Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) education and training and welcomed esteemed speakers Steffani Jenkins from ICBA CRA Solutions and representatives from the OCC. Attendees left equipped with knowledge on CRA compliance, small business and community development lending, and insights into preparing for CRA performance evaluations. Key highlights of the workshop included: 📌 Small Business, HMDA, and Community Development Lending: Understanding qualifications, documentation, analysis, and peer performance. 📌 Self-Assessment and Performance Context: Gathering and applying essential data to improve CRA performance. 📌 Community Development Investments and Services: Identifying, documenting, and goal-setting for qualified activities. 📌 CRA Exam Preparation: Leveraging performance evaluations for future exams. The workshop was also an excellent networking opportunity for CRA professionals to connect over a luncheon and exchange insights and best practices. Governor Ned Lamont, Connecticut Banking Commissioner Jorge Perez, and Connecticut Bankers Association (CBA) President & CEO Thomas Mongellow joined CEOs and executives of several banks and credit unions yesterday from across Connecticut at a news conference in Seymour. A partnership was announced between state government and the financial services industry to provide relief and critical information to individuals and businesses impacted by the August 18, 2024, severe flooding in Fairfield, Litchfield, and New Haven counties. Participating in the press conference were: John Amadeo, Executive Managing Director of Business Banking, Webster Bank; Kelly Crone, First Vice President of Residential Mortgage Lending, Thomaston Savings Bank; Patrick Hoey, Lending Market Manager, Bank of America; Frank Micalizzi, Regional President, M&T Bank; Martin Morgado, President & CEO, Savings Bank of Danbury; Chelen Reyes, President & CEO, Union Savings Bank - CT; David Rotatori, President & CEO, Ion Bank; Lesa Vanotti, President & CEO, Torrington Savings Bank; Ken Weinstein, President & CEO, Newtown Savings Bank; and joining on behalf of the Credit Union League of Connecticut was Hank Baum CUDE, President & CEO, Mutual Security Credit Union.
