  • COPE is pleased to facilitate The Hero Project, hosted by the Sid Jacobson Jewish Community Center. The HERO Project was created as a safe space for middle and high school students who have lost a parent, sibling, grandparent, or friend, to feel empowered while connecting with other grieving peers. The next meeting will be Sunday, January 12, 2024 at the Sid Jacobson JCC (East Hills, New York) at 11am. Please let us know if you have any teenagers who will benefit from this free supportive space and share the flyer with your networks. For more information or any questions contact rashida@copefoundation.org.

Founder & Executive Director @ EVERMORE | Strategist | Policy Advocacy | Scientist | Board Director | Rock Concert Host!

I'm thrilled to share that Sal Inciardi's story about being a grieving parent has just been posted in Newsweek. "Deep feelings are very difficult to express with so simple a tool as mere words. Take, for example, a word like heartbroken. A word used for centuries, yet it doesn't capture, can't ever capture, what the heart really feels, what the body endures in times of such intense grief since the depth and the dimensions of the damage are missing. "The word heartache too does little justice to define the pain we still feel, for that ache sits not only in our hearts, but throughout our entire bodies." His moving account about his dear son, Rick, will make you hug your own children a little tighter tonight. -- You can find more of Sal's work at Barnes & Noble, Inc. 👉 https://lnkd.in/eczJFsw8 #GrievingParents #Evermore #Bereavement #NoParentShouldBuryAChild #LoveIsForEvermore https://lnkd.in/eC9rNTBA

Camp COPE Clinical Director job description linked here if you are interested for yourself or to share: https://ideali.st/FBhwKa After a thirteen-year partnership with Eluna Network - and as COPE transitions towards more localized initiatives - we're rebranding our summer bereavement camp and retreat from "Camp Erin NYC" to "Camp COPE" for the 2025 season and beyond. We are beginning our process to find a new Camp COPE Clinical Director both to support this transition and to oversee the Camp interview process and Camp weekend beginning in 2025. We’re so excited about this new chapter and the potential with programmatic growth and redesign. And we are very appreciative of our leadership team's insight, encouragement, and work in facilitating this step and know it is only possible because of the strength of what they have created over the last decade plus.
