Awe-inspiring personal collection on exhibit at the Minneapolis Institute of Art! Starting this weekend, the public has the opportunity to view some of the personal art collection of Alicia Keys and Swizz Beatz. Almost 100 works by black diasporic artists are featured. New Leonardo da Vinci Museum! Pueblo Colorado will be the site for the first museum in the United States dedicated to Leonardo. It is based on the educational program STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art, and math). https://lnkd.in/e6EH2xjz

On Tuesday March 11th, there will be a public walking tour of the art exhibit at the Minneapolis Convention Center. Meet at the Information desk on the 1st floor at 4pm. Most of the artists will be present to discuss their work. The featured piece is by Karen Caldwell.

A homage to Flaco: A book has been created of photos and other artwork of Flaco the owl who escaped from the Central Park Zoo and lived for a year in the wild. Art with energy: Alexandria Mooney Jones Using only lit burning fireworks, Alexandria begins each piece as part artist and part mad scientist. She says  "I am attempting to control the typically uncontrollable. My work is at the mercy of explosives and fire. Fireworks, as a medium, represent the tension between celebration and trauma. Specifically, the trauma of explosion; a destructive force. The art pieces have bright, vibrant colors, but not a drop of paint has been used. The colors are left behind by the exploding fireworks. My artwork proves that there is beauty in the experimental, beauty in the unintentional, beauty in the uncontrollable, and sometimes even beauty in trauma."
