Correlated Solutions offers non-contact measurement solutions for materials and testing using digital image correlation.

About us

Correlated Solutions, Inc. has served the worldwide test and measurement industry since 1998 through the development of advanced, non-contact, full-field measurement systems. Our turn-key 2D and 3D Digital Image Correlation (DIC) systems allow users to quickly and accurately measure shape, motion, deformation, and strain for quasi-static and dynamic testing. Measuring operating deflection shapes (ODS) is also now available for customers using high speed digital cameras. More recently, CSI has released a fast and user-friendly Digital Volume Correlation (DVC) software, Vic-Volume, that analyzes images from X-Rays or CT-Scanners to measure internal deformation and strain of a specimen. All of our turn-key systems allow the user to extract full-field data in the form of graphs, contour plots, animations, and other various formats for easy FEA validation/comparison. Correlated Solutions turn-key systems include all necessary hardware, software, and technical support, and every system is customized to your applications.

DIC (Digital Image Correlation) is one of the most fascinating applications for High-Speed Imaging. Not only does it record material deformation, but it also allows for detailed analysis, which is truly a game changer. This capability can significantly enhance material research for new composites and material structures, providing substantial benefits for our customers. The connectivity of the Shimadzu HPV-X2 to the 3D-VIC software from Correlated Solutions brings significant advantages to DIC measurements. Camera operation, DIC calibration, measurement & analysis within the same software. Perhaps more interesting than DIC is only 3D-DIC! 😉 Just recently, we successfully installed two Shimadzu HPV-X2 cameras at KU Leuven in Kortrijk for Prof. Koen Van Den Abeele. A special thank you to Hendrik Pulju from isi-sys GmbH for his support with the Correlated Solutions software and the 3D-DIC training.

  • IMAC 2025 begins next week in Orlando, and we're proud to announce that one of the keynotes this year will be given by Correlated Solutions co-founder Dr. Michael Sutton. His presentation, which takes place in Ballroom CD at 11:40am on Tuesday, February 11th, will cover the fundamentals of digital image correlation in relation to dynamic and modal studies. Later on Tuesday, find Correlated Solutions Sales Engineer Bluejay Robinson in Salon 10 at 2:30pm for his talk in Technical Applications II entitled "Computing the FRF from a Modal Hammer's Force Response using Digital Image Correlation." Of course, we'll also be set up at Booth 308, so please stop by and speak with one of our Sales Engineers about your application and research objectives. • Are you getting the most out of your VIC-3D digital image correlation (DIC) software? Staying up-to-date is key to unlocking its full potential. The latest VIC-3D (Version 10) delivers a range of new capabilities that broaden DIC’s scope for FFT projects, FEA validation, and integrated stress analysis. In addition, the iris workspace has been significantly updated to provide even more flexibility and functionality to display your DIC analysis clearly and professionally. Why update? -Integrated Stress Analysis: Integrated stress analyzer converts strain history to stress with models defined through a dialog or through JSON files. -Virtual Strain Gauge Analysis: New VSG analysis tool automates & streamlines the determination of optimal VSG size in accordance with the DIC Good Practices Guide. -Frequency Response Functionality: New frequency response function measurements integrate force input data with a powerful FFT module for complete response analysis -FFT Vibration Visualization: New FFT vibration visualization in iris allows for in-plane & out-of-plane ODS to be displayed in stunning, high-resolution graphics. -Expanded FEA Validation: In conjunction with FE simulations in Abaqus & Ansys, users can now more effectively and efficiently validate FEA results. -Updated iris Workspace: Import extractions, image & data sequences from other projects for direct comparison and improved visualization Improved visualization of extracted data on 2D and 3D plots. Upgrade to the latest version of your DIC software and experience the difference today! https://lnkd.in/e2JEpgZx #DIC #DigitalImageCorrelation #SoftwareUpdate #Engineering #Analysis #Innovation

    View profile for Andrew Gross

Assistant Professor at University of South Carolina

An immediate #Postdoc #job #opening is available in my group for computational methods to extract material behavior from 3D full-field experimental data from highly unconventional mechanical tests. The postdoc will have the opportunity to attend regular meetings with DARPA and other DOD program managers. The research is focused on extracting yield surfaces from data rich full-field experimental information by solving an inverse problem. This research will be primarily computational and will integrate closely with a graduate student conducting experiments. Applicants with relevant experience on many of the following topics are strongly encouraged to apply: Anisotropic metal plasticity, optimization algorithms, inverse problems, uncertainty quantification, coding (preferably python), and high performance computing. Applicants should email their CV to andrewgross@sc.edu with links to their two most relevant published works. A nontechnical perspective on the project can be found here: https://lnkd.in/edjPKmUD
