𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗳𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁 𝗮𝗹𝗹-𝗳𝗲𝗺𝗮𝗹𝗲 𝗳𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝗰𝗿𝗲𝘄 𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗩𝗮𝗹𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗮 𝗧𝗲𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗵𝗸𝗼𝘃𝗮’𝘀 𝘀𝗼𝗹𝗼 𝘀𝗽𝗮𝗰𝗲𝗳𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝗶𝗻 𝟭𝟵𝟲𝟯! First hearing this announcement by Blue Origin this morning, I wasn't sure what to think about it. (For several reasons...) But with a bit more reflection, these are my thoughts: 👩🚀 For the first time in history, it will be a flight crew of only women #EmpoweringWomen. 👩🚀 All these women have made a big impact in their respective field, cause, or career as a whole #WomenWhoInspire. 👩🚀 When we often see in this industry the so-called "white men billionaire club", this is a nice new look #RepresentationMatters. 👩🚀 Spaceflight is usually followed by either space fans or the friends and family of the crew - this will bring a whole new audience to this industry #STEMInspiration. 👩🚀 These women are all communicators in some form, and once they come back (to Earth), their words expressing their unique (and albeit, privileged) experience, will be heard by many, potentially a whole new crowd #SciComm. 👩🚀 They are clearly a very diverse crew of women, culturally, ethnic, and background #DiversityMatters. What does all this sum up to? It will be inspiring to: ➡️ 𝙮𝙤𝙪𝙣𝙜 𝙬𝙤𝙢𝙚𝙣, ➡️ 𝙮𝙤𝙪𝙣𝙜𝙨𝙩𝙚𝙧𝙨 who look like them or from the same origin or background, ➡️ a 𝙣𝙚𝙬 𝙜𝙚𝙣𝙚𝙧𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 to dream of the stars, ➡️ pursue 𝙎𝙏𝙀𝙈, ➡️ 𝙙𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙢 𝙗𝙞𝙜! With that viewpoint, I think it's a great spaceflight to have! GQ just ran a piece about me, which means I’ve officially peaked—or they’ve run out of interesting people to cover! 😅 Jokes aside, I’m honored to be featured, talking about why Smaller is Better (the concept, and the book!) and how I've spent my career challenging long-standing conventions in consulting. If you’ve ever wondered how to make a business leaner, meaner, and (hopefully) better 🚀, this piece might be worth a read. Check it out here: https://lnkd.in/dWMyvTdE 👇 Would love to hear your thoughts—especially if you disagree! 👀 #SmallerIsBetter #Consulting #Entrepreneurship
