The Science of Reading: The Basics is being provided as a basic resource for providers as many states now have literacy of science of reading requirements as part of their state requirements. The Science of Reading is not explicitly required in state standards; however, standards alignment and possible evidence design may support providers in creating data efficiencies. Koch presented remotely to the U21 Deans of Education meeting that was attended by education deans from Australia, Hong Kong, the United States, United Kingdom and other European Nations. The U21 Deans of Education group has met regularly since 2000 to discuss issues of common interest and promote collegial interaction.

CAEP Accredited institutions have to meet a number of standards set by education stakeholders and experts. The first standard is Content and Pedagogical Knowledge. The New Jersey Association of Colleges for Teacher Education is calling for educator preparation providers to submit proposals for presenting at their 7th Annual Day of Assessment to be hosted virtually March 20, 2025.
