On this first day of 2025 I am #energized and #excited about the year ahead. My gas tank is full. My husband and I share six kids, and their lives have included military service, living overseas, and work obligations that in other years prevented us all from being together. This year the whole family was home, and we were even joined for a few days by my future daughter in law, who we adore. A blended family can be hard, but when we married my husband and I prioritized establishing relationships between each of these amazing but very different individuals. They enjoy spending time together and laugh often as they create new memories. My #heartishappy CP2 Consulting continues to grow. By every metric, 2024 was our best year yet. But more important than the metrics, we worked with truly amazing #communityleaders, both staff and elected, to make measurable impact as they serve their communities. I am continually inspired by our clients and the work that they do every day. One of the most important developments in 2024 was the addition of Wilyna Frankel (Winnie) to the CP2 team. Building consensus among individuals with differing perspectives is a key component to strategic planning, and Winnie has a wealth of training and experience in listening to understand and then finding common ground to build on. As we continue to listen we have found an important gap aligned with #strategicplanning that the CP2 team is uniquely suited to fill. We look forward to sharing more about this new offering in the next few weeks. For years I didn’t really understand Veterans Day. It was so removed from my experience that it was easy not to THINK about the risk that those who serve accepted as part of putting on a uniform. Then my son enlisted in the Marine Corps and was assigned a job that took him outside of the protection of his infantry unit. It all became clear when I was speaking with a recently retired Marine at a conference and told him my son’s job. He got quiet for a second and then looked me straight in the eye and said, “Just know this Mom, the Marines will never leave anyone behind.” My sincere thanks to those who have served, including my son who is now a veteran. I don’t take for granted the sacrifices you have made in your own lives, to protect those you serve with, and ultimately to protect us all.
