BUILDING THE NEXT-GEN WORKFORCE: CPCCo awarded two local college students with $5,000 scholarships as they pursue degrees in electrical engineering and business management. Both recipients are part of CPCCo’s cooperative education program, where they will get valuable work experience designed to foster academic excellence, professional growth and hands-on experience to prepare them for the Hanford cleanup mission.

BETTER UNITED: CPCCo employees generously donated more than $44,500 to the United Way of Benton & Franklin Counties over the last year. Together, we’ve joined forces to help meet community needs, not only through monetary means but also through volunteerism. Our partnership with the United Way aims to promote opportunities in the local community for enhancing a healthy quality of life/diversity in our community.

WARM RECEPTION: CPCCo recently delivered more than 800 cold weather clothing items including coats, hats, gloves, socks and scarves to the Tri-City Union Gospel Mission. The company also donated $10,000 to support our longtime community partner’s ongoing efforts to save lives and restore hope to those in need. #community #outreach #tricitieswa

SANTA'S HELPERS: Our Engineering, Nuclear Safety, and Work Planning teams joined forces to support the Richland School District 400 Early Learning Center in their annual “ELC Christmas Giving” event. The RSD ELC identifies families in the Tri-Cities in need of a little extra help this holiday season and allows for “adoption” of those families to fulfill holiday wish lists. Continuing our support of local students, CPCCo adopted 15 families this year, and a team of volunteers bought, wrapped, organized and delivered gifts to the RSD ELC to distribute before Christmas.

ANGELS AMONG US: About 25 CPCCo volunteers recently helped the Salvation Army prepare gifts for the annual Angel Tree. The group sorted and organized the donated gifts to ensure each participating child receives something from their wish list for Christmas. The Angel Tree program operates in many local communities each holiday season to provide gifts to hundreds of thousands of children across the country.

LIKE A GOOD NEIGHBOR: CPCCo is there, helping out our friends at the Tri-Cities Food Bank! Over the past month, CPCCo's generous employees collected a whopping 885 pounds of non-perishable food items, which was delivered to the Food Bank this week. We also donated $3,000 to help reduce food insecurity in our community this holiday season!

HONORING OUR VETERANS: Several CPCCo volunteers turned out Saturday morning to support the annual National Wreaths Across America Day at Sunset Gardens in Richland. The Wreaths Across America organization was formed in 2007 to expand a grassroots effort to honor veterans. Today, the organization and its volunteers place more than 2.7 million sponsored veterans' wreaths on headstones of our nation's service members at more than 4,600 locations.
