#EventRecap What a Friday it was! We concluded a packed session at the #UNWorldDataForum that left us inspired and energized. “Unlocking Impact: Data, Analytics, and AI for Better Crisis Action” brought together a full house of engaged participants eager to explore how we can create sustainable crisis data ecosystems to support over 350 million people living in fragile and crisis-affected settings. We kicked things off with an inspiring keynote by Natalie Grover (Data-Pop Alliance), who shared her insights on what makes crisis data ecosystems effective and how they drive meaningful impact in real-world scenarios. Her address set the stage for an engaging panel discussion moderated by our own Antje L.: ▶ Dr. Erin Miller (ACLED): Emphasized the value of connecting conflict data with population data, showcasing how ACLED's global partnerships enable a better understanding of conflict exposure and its ripple effects on crises like hunger. ▶ Talea von Lupin (United Nations Global Pulse): Presented the DISHA Initiative (Data Insights for Social & Humanitarian Action), demonstrating how partnerships with governments, NGOs, and private sector players leverage geospatial to enable responsible AI use in humanitarian and development settings. ▶ Gray Barrett (U.S. Department of State): Shared how the State Department leverages data-driven early warning systems to prevent crises, mitigate risks, and inform stabilization strategies under the Global Fragility Act. ▶ Natalie Grover (Data-Pop Alliance): Returned to discuss data feminism, emphasizing how inclusivity and diverse participation strengthen crisis data ecosystems. A big thank you to everyone who joined us contributed thoughtful questions, and shared inspiring ideas! If you missed the session, stay tuned! We will continue to share short video interviews with our panelists and other data experts at the Forum. Let’s keep the conversation going!
