  • In the second week of her freshman year of college in New Jersey, Rebecca woke up unable to move. After two years with a misdiagnosis and no improvement, she moved to Colorado and learned at Craig Hospital that she had transverse myelitis (TM), a rare neurological condition that caused her paralysis. But Rebecca refused to let TM stop her from pursuing her dreams. “Life is too short to be concerned with what you can’t do—instead of just trying to find new ways to do what you want.” At Craig, she discovered adaptive biking with the help of her therapeutic recreation specialist, Donna, rekindling her love for sports. And, with help from Craig’s donor-supported Community Reintegration program, Rebecca is now pursuing a graduate degree in gemology and running her own business! “You only have one life, so be sure to live it up.” 💙 Read more about Rebecca’s journey and the possibilities she found after TM: https://lnkd.in/gqTrMqcM

  • Day 3 of our #Craig2024Recap is one of our top video stories of the year sharing the remarkable journey of Mark to rediscover his voice. After a severe bike accident in 2022, Mark found himself fighting for more than survival. "I could barely speak like five words. And then I gasped for air," he recalls. During his time at Craig, Mark's team encouraged him to lean into his dream of becoming a public speaker, and with their support and his determination, he built his strength and crafted a powerful 20-minute presentation sharing his own story. Now back home in Las Vegas, Mark is using his voice to inspire others and cultivate a community.

  • On Day 2 of our #Craig2024Recap countdown to the New Year, we want to celebrate the team that makes it all possible. As we reflect on the past year, we’re reminded of the incredible dedication and teamwork of the Craig team. From winning nursing awards and celebrating the amazing careers of staff who’ve dedicated 25+ years to Craig, to being recognized in parades and simply enjoying time together, this team continues to set the bar for excellence. Craig wouldn’t be the same without the culture of compassion and collaboration that defines our work. Thank you to every team member who has helped make incredible patient outcomes possible. Here’s to you!
